And like the first teaser from last year, there is zero footage of any of the older characters, focusing on masked villains, anonymous storm troopers, and our new heroic trio (John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, and Oscar Isaac).įor what it's worth, as noted yesterday, I ran into a group of mixed-age/mixed-race young men (aged around 12 to 18) at my neighborhood swimming pool on Saturday and had a rare chance to talk movies with the so-called young male demographic. To the extent that this matters, and yeah I'm dissecting a thirty-second commercial for the sake of an easy 6:00am post before my big 7:00am post for the morning, the spot spends the first fifteen seconds on the bad guys and the next fifteen seconds on the good guys. There is nothing in this spot that would qualify as a spoiler, and frankly much of the 30-second commercial is comprised of footage from the first teaser that dropped last Thanksgiving. Walt Disney gang are going to be doing what they can to offer the expected trailers, TV spots, and clips without giving much away.
